contact problem.. baffled.

I have two clients that you can look at their contact list and
everythings fine but when you compose an email and hit the TO: button
and select a name it is a different address and phone# than the one in
the contact list.. as far as i can tell there is only one contact list
or address book selected. any help would be appreciated.

You haven't provided enough detail.
List your Outlook version, the number of Contact Folders or Personal Folders
Files you see in Folder List, and how it is you're seeing addresses and
phone numbers when you are selecting email addresses.

office xp, on and exchange server, one contact list (hence the
problem) and when i open the compose email i hit TO and it comes up
with a completely different list.. like an old one, i dont know if
this is an exchange server problem or what.. but id appreciate any
help.

Well I can't help with the Exchange end of things, but you can certainly
check and reconfigure your Outlook Address Book settings easily enough. What
do you see here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change. >
