contact saved in .msg

I've got a user who saved their outlook contacts from an old job in .msg format in a word document. Now i'm trying to find out a way to import them into their new outlook profile witout having to open every single one and save it individually. (they have a lot). Outlook doesn't seem to offer this as an import option, and word doesn't give an option for exporting. Drag and drop and copy/paste don't wirk either. Anyone have any ideas?
