We have an Exchange 5.5 server and have been connecting with Outlook
2K for quite a while. We've just upgraded 2 PCs to WinXP and Office
XP. These users are now unable to modify some of the distribution
lists on the server - the error stating that the list is too large for
the server. These same lists are still editable, by the same user, on
a Win2K/Off2K system, so it isn't the server that is the issue.
I've seen a MSFT article that says the size limit of a distribution
list is 8K on an Exchange server and that you should use nested lists.
The properties on the list says it is 27K - but again, Outlook2K can
edit just fine. I used OutlookXP to create a new list and was up to
14K before I quit.
We're trying not to rebuild all of our lists since it is
a: a royal pain
b: works in Outlook2K
Right now we're leaning towards going back to Outlook2K, but if anyone
knows a config change that can be made to XP that will fix this, it'd
be appreciated.
