contact sort order after migration from Lotus Notes to Outlook

You neglected to state to what view you are referring and on what field that
view is sorted.

Sort is on full name field and the behavior is the same in address card view
or phone list view. The settings work correctly for new entered contacts, but
do not change existing contacts. Of course they can be changed one at a time,
but the users with 100's of contacts aren't real thrilled about that idea.

Outlook 2003 and Exchange Server 2003; I have used the instructions per
the
article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;319142 as
well as read other postings; I have closed Outlook and reopened and the
settings work for new contacts. The fields are parsed correctly when I
open a
contact, but I can't get the order to change for existing contacts. Ideas?

Sort settings are never maintained for imported Contacts. Are you sure the
view sorts on the Full Name field? The Address Card view sorts on the File
As... field.
