contacts data

Hello...

I cannot seem to get access to my contacts list when I open and send a new message. I had to re-install everything when I recently had a computer failure (luckily I had a backup).

I get an error message that states: the address list could not be displayed. the Contacts folder associated with this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions. for information on how to remove this folder from the Outlook Address book, see Microsoft Outlook help.

I don't want it removed I just want access to it. I use Microsoft Office XP Professional 2002. I can view them from the shortcut menu on the left of Outlook (can even make changes), but cannot get to them when I want to send a new message.

Whenever I make a backup I use the import/export function in Outlook and then I copy 3 files from the Outlook folder; Archive, Backup, and Outlook to a DVD disc. Once I've re-installed everything I copy those 3 files back. I am now wondering if copying the Outlook file back to the Outlook folder is causing the problem.

I give up!

You just haven't configured the Outlook Address Book yet.
