Contacts dissapearing

IN multiple versions of Windows 2000,and XP PRO, With
multiple versions of Outlook. Users contact list keep
patialy dissapearing without a trace. There is a third
party software being used to share certain folders
(Groupware)
but the problem effects any contact list including the
shared. I have been unable to locate any leads to
resolving this problem.
