Contacts Fluctuate Between Offline & Online

Ever since i updated to Build 3.1a 2390, the contacts keep fluctuating
between Offline and Online and one contact never goes Idle. I have
reinstalled, ran grooveclean.exe and removed all Alerts.

Does any one have a solution?

this on/off happens because groove no longer checks awareness constantly -
the cycling can 5 minutes after the contact has gone offline.

awareness is often flaky, specially when other members are using in-house
relays

also you will often see a contact that was online some minutes ago, suddenly
show that they have been idle for 6 hrs or something like that.

To avoid eating up resources groove is now storing last awareness somewhere
and if it cannot contact the member directlt or via relay it seems to pick up
the older status. In the interest of optimization actual up to the sec
awareness has been compromised.

spent much time trying to figure this out because my acticam tool uses
awareness to send images only to online members and discovered all that is
flaky about awareness. but usually associated with inhouse relays but so many
other causes are possible that i just don't try to figure it out anymore

grooveclean on such accounts does help sometimes.
