Contacts from address book to message

I have two related questions about "moving" contacts from the address
book to an email message.

When viewing the address book from a mail message, is it possible to
highlight numerous contacts get them to the To, CC, or BCC lines in
one fell swoop or must I click on each individual contact?

When viewing the address book from a mail message, is it possible to
sort the address book by "category?"

Thank you,

You can highlight multiple non-sequential contacts by holding down the
Command key and clicking on each one. You can then drag them to the
appropriate To/CC/BCC field.

(You can highlight sequential contacts by holding down the Shift key and
clicking the first and last.)

Not that I can see. If you want to address by category, you should first
switch your view to the Address Book (click the Address Book icon in the
upper-left corner of your main Entourage window) and then sort the list by
Category (if the column appears - if not, go to View > Columns >
Categories). You can highlight multiple contacts (see above) and then click
the "New Message To" button.

Adam, thank you for your response. For some reason View > Columns
does not come up in the Address Book view when looking at contacts
within an email message. Do you know of a way to fix that?

Not that I'm aware of. I don't think there's any way to sort the list
by category when addressing inside an actual message. You will need
to switch to your Address Book view first and then do your sorting
there. Are you familiar with switching to the Address Book?

Sorting in the address book isn't a problem. It becomes a problem when
I try to view the address book FROM a mail message. It appears what I
want to do is not possible. Thanks for you help.

You can open two windows...one for Mail and the other for the Address Book.

Under File --> Open New Main window
Select Address Book

Now you can see your Address Book and drag any contacts you want to the open
message window.
