contacts from pst not coming up

I know I have seen this before (even think I asked it, but cannot find
it...are they deleting messages more quickly than they used to on here, so
you cannot see as far back...or is it my imagination?)...

I am using a .pst file for my pop3. It is NOT the default Microsoft set up
file, and rests in a separate folder. It is the place I get mail delivered
to (have set that as my default). But the contacts folder that is in that
pst is not showing up when I go to the "to:" button to find a name. Where do
I change this or add an address book, or something like that? Can't
remember. Thx.

Right click on the Contacts folder, choose Properties, go to the Outlook
Address Book tab and check the "Show this folder as an Email address book"
box

We have the same problem, except that the check box for "show this folder" is
grayed out, and the setup windows to select a contacts type is blank. We had
installed the Office 2007 trial; uninstalled that; and installed Outlook 2003
with SMB contact mgr.

You need to repair the Outlook Address Book service in the mail profile.
Wgile Outlook is closed, open the Mail applet in Control Panel. Click E-mail
Accounts, select "View or change existing directories or address books" and
click Next. Select the Outlook Address Book service and click Remove. Then
follow this procedure: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=287563
