Contacts in Outlook2007 not show in Address book

I have read some of the previous info but it is not working for me. I just
installed Windows7 Pro and Outlook2007 and tried to import my comma seperated
address book that I had saved from Earthlink Mailbox. My list shows up under
the Contacts folder ok. But when I go to send an email and hit the "To"
button it brings up the Address folder but shows NO Addresses. I have tried
to go to properties of address book after re-installing another profile and
the selection is still greyed out albeit it is selected though. I must be
missing something here? Note: when I went to import my account from Earthlink
the 1st attempt at encrypted fails but the second attempt at UNencrypted goes
successful. Does that mean anything?

Are you certain that the Contacts Folder you are displaying in the address
book view is the one that contains your Contacts?
Are you certain that your import process created valid resolved email
addresses for each of your Contacts?
Create a new Contact from scratch in your Contacts Folder. Make sure it has
a valid, resolved email address. Does that Contact show up in the address
book view?

Add to the explanaition of my problem here. The email addresses do not show
up in the list of contacts (just the names and phone numbers) that do show up
in the Contacts folder. I originaly thought that since the list of names all
showed up that there email addresses were there also, but apparently not. I
have found that in my Comma Seperated values file the email addresses are
listed way over in column AB. So my problem may have to do more with how to
get the actual email addresses to import besides just the names and phone
numbers. Any help is much appreciated.

Number of things that are confusing about your post so will deal with the
easiest issue to solve:

When importing the CSV file, click on the <Map Custom Fields> button when
it appears and manually map your fields. More specifically, map your email
field from the input file to the Email Address field from the Outlook list
(note - expand the Email field group and specifically select the Email
Address field).

The only thing to keep in mind
- every column should have a column name - there should be no blanks in
between
- location (column position) of the email field (or any other) makes
absolutely
no difference

Re: reference to column AB - assume that this refers to the CSV file being
opened in Excel otherwise it doesn't make any sense unless of course you
are exporting from Earthlink in Excel format which can introduce other
potential issues.

Re: encrypted vs unencryted - refers to what exactly? Actually doesn't
matter what this refers to and assume this to be an Earthlink thing.
You can't import "encrypted data" into Outlook. There is nothing
on the Earthlink support page related to CSV export that refers to
encrypted or unencrypted.
