Contacts in Tasks no longer Valid

I have Contacts listed in most of my Tasks (bottom left
hand corner of open Task, in Outlook 2000 SR-1). In many
cases when I double click on the Contact's name, I receive
an error indicating that this is no longer a valid Address
Book entry. I then re-enter the Contact, which is
certainly valid, and the Task is stable again...no errors
next time.

Why would the error occur if the Contact IS indeed a valid
Address Book entry and how do I clean this up, other than
case-by-case?

If the contacts have been moved subsequently, the linkages aren't
maintained. Might that have occurred? See here:
