Contacts messed Up

S

Steve fisher

Running Outlook 98, Windows Nt 4.

Whenever i create a new e-mail and type a name in the "To" box and
click on "Check Names", Outlook cannot find the name even though it
exists in the Contacts Folder.

When i click on "Tools", "Address Book", followed by "Tools",
"Options" the following information is populated:

"Show this address list first" - "Contacts"

"When sending mail check names in this order" - "Contacts", "Global
Address List"

If I go into the name in the contact list and then highlight the
e-mail address there and right click on mouse and click on properties
and then close and do this with e-mail2 and e-mail3 if they exist and
save and close the contact then outlook will see e-mail.

I really don't want to be doing this with all 800 contacts is there a
simpler way?

Regards

Sounds to me like your current Contacts Folder isn't the one connected to
the Outlook Address Book Service. Have you removed and re-added the Service
to re-establish the proper connections?
