Contacts not appearing in GAL

I have tried the fix of
Make sure option to display contacts as address book is
selected.

Right-click contact folder
Select Properties
Select "Outlook Address Book"
Check box for "Show this folder as an e-mail address book"
Click on the various OK's to close it out.

My check box is greyed out. Any idea on getting this un
greyed out?

We are having the same problem. I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling Outllook but it still does not show up and the check box is greyed out to show this address book when sending emails. How do I get this box ungrey?

Did you add the Outlook Address Book Service to your profile?

I found a solution
go to the tools menu, click e-mail accounts
click view or change existing directories or address books and click next
click outlook address book and click remove
if there isn't any address book then click add
click additional address books and click next
click outlook address book and click next
click ok and restart outlook 2002
click finish
clickc exit and restart outlook
in the folder list right-click the folder that you want to use with the address book ( ex. contacts) and click properties
click the outlook address book tab
click to select the show this folder as an email address book and click okrestart outlook 2002
