Contacts not visible "To"

Maybe somebody can help: XP Outlook 2003. I transferred the .pst file from
another computer. The contacts show ok, but when I send a message and click
"To" for the address, I get an error message that it can't find the file or
the path is incorrect. What do I need to do?

Thanks, Richard

What did you do when you transferred the file?

It's been a while since I've dealt with OL2003 but try removing & readding
the Outlook address book service in the Tools menu > Accounts dialog. Looks
like it might be pointing to the wrong place/file

Thanks. I copied the PST file from the old computer (outlook 2002) to the
new one (outlook 2003).

But then what did you do? Did you, for example, use the import function?

Sorry. No, I simply copied it to the directory. The mails showed as did the
contacts and I thought all was ok.

Thanks, Richard

Did you overwrite the existing file?

If you have Contacts in the Contacts folder but they are not accessible when
you click on the To button, check these settings:

Make sure the Contact folder is enabled as an email address book. Right
click the Contacts folder, choose Properties then Outlook Address Book. Is
the box to enable as email address book is checked?

If this is grayed out...

Go to Tools | Email Accounts, choose View or change existing directories or
address book. Is the Outlook Address Book present? If it isn't listed, add
it and close and restart Outlook. If it is listed, then remove it and close
then restart Outlook and repeat these steps to add it.
