Contacts on old e-mails do not resolve to address book

We installed a new Exhange server and migrated all the mail from the old
server to the new one. We then updated all the profiles on the clients to
view the new server.

But since then the e-mail addresses don't resolve correctly. For instance if
a user opens an old e-mail and clicks reply all, all of the recipients are
showing, but the e-mail fails when sent. Examining the recipients on the
e-mail it seems they have no e-mail address or contact data. The only way to
send that e-mail is to delete the recipients and add them again from the GAL
or contacts. Also everytime the user types a recipient on a new e-mail they
have to click the 'Check Names' button or select from the address book.
Otherwise the recipients name seems to resolve, that is becomes underlined,
but again has no e-mail address or contact data.

This is driving our users crazy and we can't rsolve. Any ideas?

Try this: Open your contacts folder, highlight one and then select all.
Then use New Message to Contact to place all of the names in the TO: field.
Press Control + K to resolve the addresses. Then delete the mail, do not
send. Your contacts should now all have valid resolved email addresses.

Milly,

Thanks that helped resolve the issue with new e-mails. However any e-mails
received before the server change still do not resolve the names when
replying. Do you know a trick to fix them? So far deleting the names and
reenetering works but that is a pain. When I examine the properties for one
of thos names all it shows is "/O=UM ORGANIZATION/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE
GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=ANDY" in the Display field. Everything else is blank.

One thing I forgot to mention is the old server handled Exchange and Active
Directory. I split that onto a new domain controller and new exchange server.
Maybe AD moving has caused the issue?
