Contacts sync with Global address Book

Vasco

My company just went thru a merger and now all my contacts in my Contacts
folder (PAB) are not up to date since our e-mail address and phone numbers
have changed. Question, is there any possibility to compare Outlook Contacts
(PAB) with the new corporate global address book based on first and second
name with the option to say update or not?
I would like to keep my contacts (PAB) up to date since I sync with a
windows mobile device and I have no interest to carry all company contacts
with me.

Back up. Outlook has not used a PAB in over 10 years. They are not supported
and not compatible with current versions. Why are you using one?

Hi Russ,

thanks for your answer, there is the folder Contacts in your outlook mailbox
which is primary used in case you want to sync with an windows mobile device.
Now the company contacts for many of the entries in my Contacts folder have
changed. Now I could go thru manually and check each Contacts entry and in
case old data is there I could open our corporate global address list and
open the contact properties and save. Now outlook is asking if he should
update the contact information. This works fine! But I have about 600 company
(same company) contacts in my folder and each update takes about 3 minute,
that makes about 15h of updating my contacts folder! I wonder if there is a
smarter way to update/sync your contacts folder with the Global Address List?

Thanks
Vasco

So your reference to a PAB was bogus?
I can't tell from your description what you need to do. It is too vague.
Precisely what field do you need to update and where?

Its mainly fix phone numbers, e-mail and company name, as I say the content
of the folder "Contacts" does not match with the new Global address list any
more (the one which is maintained by our corporate IT) so is there a way or
application which make a comparison and updating of my "Contacts" folder
easy? Guess we are not the first company which is merging this must be an
issue before already. If there is nothing this might be a good
service/application to sell.
