contacts to address book

I recently switched from O.E. to Outlook. I imported my
address book, but the addresses are in Contacts only. My
address book is blank. A previous response to a post told
me to "add the Outlook Address Book to your mail profile"
but I'm not sure how to do that. I do know that when I go
to Contacts Properties and click on the Outlook Address
Book tab, there is a checkbox for "show this folder as an
email address book" and it is grayed out; I can't access
it. Please help me restore my address book!
