contacts using old custom field values

Hi,
I have a custom contact form with a custom field called
Mailing List that I had set to the type Keyword by
mistake. Recently I wanted to change the type to Text (no
contacts had more than one value for this field), so I
copied the values of the field into a new temporary field,
deleted the old Mailing List field and then created a new
field called Mailing List. Then I copied all of the values
from the temporary field into the new Mailing List.

This seems to be ok for most of us, but when one employee
opens the public contacts she still sees the old Mailing
List field of the type Keyword for some reason. Some of
the contacts' mailing list value has changed since the new
field has been created, so in table view the contact may
have no value for Mailing List, but when the contact is
opened, the form shows the correct value (new Mailing List
field value).

I cleared the forms cache, which didn't seem to make a
difference and she was seeing the most recent form anyway,
it's just that she's getting the old Mailing List field.
How can I remove any references to this old field which
seem to exist?

Thanks,
Andrea

When you deleted the old field, did you delete it not just from the form
but also from the folder before you created it again?

Maybe this user had a customized version of the view in that folder. You
could try resetting just that view. Or, for a scorched earth approach, start
Outlook with the /resetviews switch, but note that this will clear all the
user's view customizations in all folders.

Yes, the problem was her view of the contacts. I had already gotten her to
remove the Mailing List field and add it again because I thought the problem
was that she may have had the Mailing List field displayed since before I
made the changes, but that made no difference.
Of all the other fields that were displayed, none of them were any that I
had made changes to recently so I didn't think any others would have been the
problem. Howwever, when she removed all fields from the view (except Icon,
since all cannot be removed) and added them again, everything displayed
correctly!

Thanks,
Andrea
