Hi James!
There are several troubleshooting steps that may resolve your issue:
A. Rename the Frmcache.dat file and Outlook will build a new one.
*****************************************************
1. Quit Outlook.
2. Click Start, point to Find, and click Files or Folders.
3. Type "Frmcache.dat" (without the quotation marks) in the Named box,
and click Find Now.
4. For each instance of the file found, right-click the file name and
click Rename.
5. Rename the file "Frmcache.old" (without the quotation marks), and
press ENTER.
6. Restart Outlook.
B. Create a new profile and add your accounts and information (You could possibly have a corrupted
profile)

Subject: contancts in Contact folder appear as mail
Date: Tue, 10 Feb 2004 18:54:03 -0800
All the contacts in the default contact folder now appear
as mail objects. I have not added any new contacts
recently so I'm realy not sure how this came about.
Any help most appreciated on how to change entries back
to contact form and (though not critical at this point of
time) how or what could have caused this to happen.
I've tried doing the following but all on't seem to work.
(1)deleting and re-adding my email account (2)deleting
the contacts folder and re-adding it back.
TIA.
james
