Often times in manuals or catalogs there is some content along the right edge
of the document which gives you information on which section you are in. In
my case, I want the right edge to be shaded in gray (from the edge in
approximately .325") and text (oriented top down) identifying the section.
The shaded portion should run from the very top of the document to the
bottom.
I've created an example using a one column table pushed to the right edge,
but this has a few draw backs. I can't get the column to extend all the way
to the top/bottom of the document... very close but not all the way. More
importantly, as this document grows, the side content has to be manually
input by copying the column from page to page.
Is there a way to do what I want using a tool similar to the header/footer
feature? That way it would be automagic?
Thanks!
