content changes after pasting

Hi there,
Got a really strange problem. If I highlight and copy a
section of an exisiting document in word 2000 and paste it
into another document in word. The layout changes and then
thereafter I have to adjust the format.
By this I mean: Random words and lines will change font
size and font type. also the headers will change to
somthing else. And this happens intermittedly.
This has me stumped as its never done this before. And
this also happens if I try thig from a different
workstation. I do belive its somthing to do with the
document.
Any ideaS?
