contextual spelling in word 2007

Taffy

Hi,
contextual spelling does not seem to work in word 2007 - if I type
"their are" for example I would expect the words to be underlined ib a
blue wavy line and have "there are" offred as a correction when I
right click on the the words but thos does not happen. I have ticked
the the box to use contextual spelling in the word>options>proofing
dialog box but still it doesn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi Taffy,

Check to see that the text has language set for English
Review=>Proofing=>Set Language
and the 'do not check spelling or grammar choice there is also turned off', and that misspelled words are also being 'noticed' by
the proofing tools.

When you type the text (and a space after it) see if it works in a longer sentence, such as
Their are seven days in a week.
or if you hit the F7 key after typing the sentence if you get a blue colored suggestion for change.

There's more information on this feature here.

It can be helpful, but won't catch everything :)

Many thanks Bob - I have checkd the settings and they were fine but
strangeley after deselecting/selecting the tick boxes it seems to be
working on most errors now but quite all errors - I will keep you
updated.

Thanks again for the swift response

Taffy
