Continue Previous List "greyed out"

Using "Numbered" facility in Word 2000,
the "Reset", "Restart Numbering" and "Continue Previous
List" buttons are "greyed out". "Restart Numbering" is
set which means that it is not possible to "Continue
Previous List". Can you help please?

It sounds like you are the beginning of list that doesn't
match the previous lists for some reason. Although some
people tend to shy away from the Format Painter - I have
found this a good way to connect two separate lists. Click
in a paragraph of where the numbering is correct and
double-click on the Format Painter. Then click in each one
of the paragraphs where the numbering is not correct and
the Format Painter should connect the two lists. Press ESC
to turn off the Format Painter when you are finished.

Please Note - this is a quick fix for your document. In
the future, I would recommend using a Numbered List style
to help control numbering better.
