Sorry for the cross-post, but it looks like this group gets a little more
traffic.
Scenario:
Exchange 2003 SP2 server running on Windows 2003 SP1 box.
Fresh install of XP SP2 and Office 2003 SP2 on clients.
Problem:
Each time a user attempts to archive to an existing (ANSI) .PST file we get
the following error message “Microsoft Office Outlook is running in Unicode
mode against Microsoft Exchange server and cannot archive items to a
non-Unicode Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders archive file. Please select or
create a new Personal Folders file that supports Unicode.â€
Question:
We understand the benefits of Unicode and plan on having the users switch
soon. However, the IS manager has requested that we allow the users to
continue archiving (including auto-archive) to their existing .PST files
until the end of the year.
Is it possible for Outlook 2003 to use ANSI mode when running against an
Exchange 2003 server? If so, how is this configured?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
