We are using Word 2002 (10.5815.4219) SP 2. We would like to create a
template for testimony (pleading) that has no page number on the first page
and page numbering on subsequent pages. We do want to use "Different First
Page" feature, because we may insert the testimony into other documents and
the first page of the testimony would no longer be the first page of the
document.
Instead we are trying to use Continuous Section Break on Page 1 and then set
different footers for section 1 and 2. Everything is fine, except for the
following:
1. The section break takes up a physical line on page 1.
2. We want to have the section break stay on the first page and do not want
users to be able to type in front of it and thereby, push it down.
Is there a way to have this stay on page 1 no matter what and is there a way
to not have it take up any phsical space.
TIA,
