control display of search results

SUMMARY
-I am using MOSS 2007 and Project 2007
-I want to minimize the results that are displayed
in the search results page 'results.aspx'
-I know that from the advanced search page I can specify
"results type" and the "property restrictions" but
I want to prevent certain content from even being in the
search index
-all I want to have displayed in search results are
a.) project workspace sites and b.) Documents that are
in project workspace document libraries

PROBLEM
-when I get search results I get what I want, but also
I get the following:
a.) list items in the PWS site, for example "Deliverables"
and "Issues"
b.) and, I get results that represent the different views
of list items like "Risks - All Risks Assigned to Me"
and "Issues - All Postponed Issues"

SOLUTION DIRECTION
a.) exclude these items from the search crawl index
entirely, this is my preference
b.) if I cannot exclude from the index, then I am
fine with just preventing them from displaying on
the results page

IDEAS ON CONFIG CHANGES
1.) Shared Services Admin > Search Settings > Crawl Rules
2.) PWA > Site Settings > Look and Feel > Searchable Columns
3.) PWA > Site Settings > Site Administration > Related Links scope settings
4.) PWA > Site Settings > Site Administration > Search Visibility

QUESTION
-I have tried config in the below areas but I am still not resolved.
can anyone point me in the right direction

-well, I think this was it, if anyone else wants to chime in go ahead
-what I did was just a simple crawl rule to Exclude
-it was <your path>/pwa/*/lists/* and exclude
-added this to an exclude crawl rule and I believe that was it
