Control link to Project workspace

On some of the project views there is a link to the Project Workspace (on the
left side bar). I do not want a group of users to have access to this link.
How can I control this?

This link provides a single point of access to Risks, Issues, and Documents
associated with a project. You would need to deny permission to access this
feature for all projects. Are you sure you don't want your people to access
Risks, Issues, and Documents?

Dale,

First off – thanks for all of your responses; you have been a tremendous
help. By the way, your colleague/co-author Gary Chefetz has been hired by my
company in NJ to help set up Project Server – I am looking forward to meeting
him.

Anyway, I am trying to slowly introduce Project Server to my users. I will
eventually give them access to these sections in order to take advantage of
Project Server’s capabilities, but for the first few weeks, I want to limit
their focus on the project plan and recording actuals. We currently have
PVCS for all issues, risk, and documents.

I currently have access to risk, issues, and documents permissions turned
off for all users, but there seems to be a loophole because I did give them
limited project view access, and it is in this view that this link appears.
So, even tough they have no permissions, to the issues, risk, and documents,
they can get to the page on the workspace from the project view. Is there
any way around this?

I do not believe there is a specific permission to prevent people from
accessing the Project workspace. If you did not intend to use the Risks,
Issues, and Documents features of Project Server, you should probably not
have installed WSS, since WSS provides this functionality. Gary can work
with you on this issue. If you decide to have us provide training for your
people, I would be the one to do the training. Hope this helps.
