Control Panel Not Accessible

When I try to use any application in my control panel I
get an error message that reads: Access to specified
device, path, or file is denied. I'm using Windows 98.
How can this be fixed. Thanks in advance.

product. Suggest you post your question to one of the Windows98 groups,
all of which begin with: microsoft.public.win98

As Cheryl pointed out, this is the wrong newsgroup to be posting a Windows 98 question.
However, I thought I'd add a little comment.
I remember something very similar happening to a computer at one of our store locations.
Turns out it was caused by a virus.
Might be a good idea to update your Anti-Virus DAT files and scan for viruses.
(I hope you have an AV program!)

Took some digging, but I found my documentation on it.
It was the Sircam virus. Information and removal tool found here:

May not be this at all, but worth a look.
