Controling Styles in Word

I am looking for a way to create a template that will only allow
certain styles to be used. I had considered creating an auto-close
macro that would search the document for any styles that were not
included in an "allowed list" and if an unauthorized style was
located, display a dialog box asking the user to correct the document.

But before I head down that path, I thought I would see if something
similar already exists. I don't need to spend my time re-inventing the
wheel.
