Controlling Prnters using print server

JayM

I have used Jonathan West's articles and help from Jonathan in the past to
write some brilliant macros to automate double sided printing.

My problem now is that my manager has decided to put all the printers on a
print server and has made manipulation of these printers administrator only.
Now my double sided doesn't work. Does anyone has any ideas of how to get
around this or is it not possible.

Many thanks

If Jonathan doesn't come along shortly to pass on his expertise in this
field, can you set up a separate printer driver configured to duplex
operation and switch between the two as required as shown at -
http://www.gmayor.com/fax_from_word.htm ?

Otherwise I think it needs a memo to someone with some sense to point out
that the current operating environment prevents the duplex printer operating
as required by its users.

Thanks for that. the problem being that we have many different printers
across 3 sites. My print macro does things like print to different trays so
if I had one for duplex printing I would need one for each printer and things
would start to get messy.

If the macro relating the choosing from a variety of available printers in
the linked page doesn't help, I guess it's back to plan B ;)

See if you can get a local copy of the printer driver installed on your own
machine. It might not matter that the remote printer is admin only.
