ControlTip Text does not appear

I have several reports that can be run different ways according to the
filters applied to the main form before running the report. For each type of
report I have a button where I have entered what the report does in the
ControlTip Text field of the properties.

Some of my button work just fine, and others the tip will not appear. I have
tried walking through each property list to make sure they are the same as
the buttons that work, but cannot find differences. Of course I have looked
at it so long now that my eyes are crossed.

Any suggestions?

This sounds unusual.
I seem to remember a similar problem, I found that rebooting my computer
fixed it. Don't know why.
Try saving and closing the database then close access.
Open the database again and check if the tips are now working.

Sometimes I have found the control tips are not working as well. What I have
done is select each of the command buttons on the form and then clicked the
following from the format menu when in form design view: Format | Bring to
Front.

It seems to work for me by doing this. Perhaps you could try that?
