Conversation column in Calendar views

Hi,

I have looked hi and low for information about the field Conversation in the
Outlook XP (2002) Calendar; to see it one must view the Calendar by any of
the views that appear in column form. I would like to know it's purpose,
and, if and how it can be modified or controlled, being that seems to grab
any information it deems of interest to itself. I have a long list of
contacts, many of which I have entered their birthdates in their respective
Contact form, making it automatically appear in the Calendar as an
Annual/Recurring Event. For some of these, Conversation displays simply
"Birthday", for others "[fullname] Birthday", yet for others, "[last, first]
Birthday",... (my Contacts' "File As" field is ordered by First Last by
default). Furthermore, when creating a recurring event, whatever I enter in
the Subject field of the appointment is what is used for the Conversation
field, but later cannot be modified if the Subject field is changed
partially or completely.

Thank you in advance for any information.
