Conversion from Access 97 to 2000 Problem

I've been asked to convert a Access 97 database to 2000.

I get the following message when I try: "The database was
created in an earlier version of Access. You don't have
appropriate security permissions to open or convert
databases created in earlier versions".

Obviously security has been put on the database, but the
original developer is no longer around. Is there anyway I
can circumvent this problem?

Hi, Ron.

To convert the database to the current version of Access, one needs to join
the workgroup that was used to secure the database file and log in as the
Access user who is the owner of the database or an Access user that has the
following user-level permissions:

1.) Open/Run Database
2.) Open Exclusive
3.) Modify Design or Administer for all tables
4.) Read Design for all objects
