Conversion from Word 2003 to 2007

I have 2007 on my new laptop and 2003 on my office server. When using
documents from the server (2003) and modifying them on my laptop (2007) I
need to convert. Saving takes a very long time and the process is slow.
Takes up to 2 minutes to save. Any way to speed things up? Am I doing
something wrong? Thanks

You don't need to convert; .doc files will open in 2007 in
"Compatibility Mode" and will save in 97-2003 format. (If you save
them in 2007, .docx, format, you can't use them in 2003 unless you
download the Compatibility Pack.)

What kind of saving are you doing that takes so long?
