Conversion Issues 2007 to 2003

I am working with Microsoft Project 2007 and have been saving the file
as a 2003 file, but when I do this and re-open the file Task Names
will disappear and random predecessors will be assigned to certain
tasks. Also tasks will simply disappear. I've done a decent amount
of googling and did troubleshooting on the Microsoft site. Has anyone
else had this issue or know of any fixes?

Hi Andrew,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Ensure first that you have the latest Service Packs installed. SP3 for 2003
and SP1 for 2007.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

I have a similar issue with 2003. Will SP3 repair a file that contains this
issue, or merely prevent it from occurring in the future.

I'm not sure, but if you don't install SP3, I for one will not waste my time
trying to diagnose an out of date program :).

Hello Minnirs,

I doubt installing SP-3 will repair any damage to a file -- but it
should be worth installing to help prevent future issues.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
