Conversion to a Microsoft Word Document.

I operate in a Mac enviroment with a G5 and OSX10.4.9.

Going back to 2002 I used Word Perfect. I have 20 (+/-) documents
that are in Word Perfect that I want to convert to Office Word. But I
get a message that says "Data is incorrect for the selected
conversion." Also, when I open the document a quick flash identifies
the document as a "Pict Import". The icon in my file is a dark
(black) rectangle.

Who knows how I can convert these documents to Office Word.

Hi,

Microsoft Word on Windows has a WordPerfect import filter; you might want to
give it a try. If not, there's an application called MacLink Plus Deluxe
which will do the job for you; note, however, that it's not free, so unless
you intend to use it on a regular basis, it might not be worth the
investment.

If you still have access to WordPerfect, the easiest way to convert these
files would be to open them in WordPerfect and save them either as .doc or
..rtf files.

Also, when you say WordPerfect, do you mean the Mac version or the Windows
version? The Mac version uses a much older file format which can be opened
in applications such as Nisus Writer Express/Pro or AbiWord (free).

One way:

Use MacLinkPlus Deluxe:

I't's pricey for 20 docs, but it's the only product I've used that
produced flawless conversions.

Alternatively, you might:

- if you have WordPerfect still, save as RTF, which Word will open

- you may be able to convert using WinWord, if you have access to
a Wintel with WinWord.

If you still have wordperfect save documents as RTF.

Or if you have DATAVIZ-MacLink Plus you can set to convert direct to a
Word document.

If you use MacLink Plus you can choose the version converting from and
the version converting to. and you can convert Batches.
