Convert a list to a table?

I have Word for MS Office XP and also the word that came with my xp
laptop/ms works app. I have a word document that is basically a long
list - it's a checklist. I'd like to make a table with it without
having to copy and paste each line. Is this possible? And how?

Select the list, then click Table > Convert > Text to Table. Make sure the
"separate text at" is set to Paragraphs and click OK.
