convert all dates

Hi, I am having trouble with date sorts. I imported some
data and the dates must be formatted differently because
even though I have formatted the column to be 01/01/01
format it still doesn't sort by the year

the way to sort by year, at least that I have found is by
creating a custom number type. Format all of the date
cells by using a custom number and in the custom text box
type in
yyyy/dd/mm or whichever way you want as long as yyyy is
first. This will place the date first and allow you to
sort by date.
