I'm currently running an Excel workbook that holds test data for many
products. I would like to convert it to access to make comparison and display
of data easier.
I've got two main tables that look something like this:
Parameter: Diameter
Min Nom Max Unit
Product:
Product A 14 15 16 mm
Product B 20 mm
Product C 0.030 0.032 0.033 m
Product D
Table 1
Product Product No. Diameter Weight Type
Product A 1 15.5 10 A
Product A 2 16 12 A
Product A 3 15.7 12 A
Product B 1 21 19 Pass
Product B 2 20 19 Pass
Product C 1 Pass
Table 2
Table 1 holds the test parameters for the products- the values and units. I
may use different validation criteria or lookup tables for each of the
values. Not all product are tested for the same parameters.
I then lookup this data and use it to create a test sheet to enter data,
compare it to the data held in table 2 which can be actual measurement text
values or a pass/fail, and create a test document
How can I create the tables to hold this data and what format would I need
for the queries?
Any help much appreciated!
