Convert grouped objects to .jpg picture

I have a document in which I have a number of grouped objects. The objects
consist of .jpeg images grouped with text boxes.
I want to convert these grouped objects to .jpg images to make insertion in
other documents and re-sizing easier.
I can copy the object and then "Edit, Paste as new picture" in MS Photodraw;
this image can then be saved as a .jpg file.
This technique works fine for some of the grouped objects, but for others
the text box part of the image pastes as a blank rectangle.
Is there an easier and more reliable way of making this conversion?

If you need to resize then GIFs would be better than JPGs; but in both
cases, text will not resize felicitously: But if quality is not a concern,
you could just take a screen shot.
