convert labels to data source

I need to do a mail merge with a set of addresses provided
to me in mailing label form. Is there any way to convert
the Word document of mailing labels into a more usable
data source?

I'd be willing to use Excel, Outlook or even a Word table
as the type of data source. I would just rather not cut &
paste or drag & drop all the parts of the contact info.
(Need FirstName, LastName, Company, StreetAddress, City,
Province/State, ZipCode/PostalCode).

I'm using Office 2000.

Although it didn't work as cleanly as I would have liked
(since the person who created the original file didn't do
a very consistent formatting job) this was still terrific
information to have.
