Convert Master Schedule into a Single File

Every so often, a customer will ask to have the schedule delivered as a
stand-alone schedule instead of a master and subproject files. I think at one
time, you could just send the consolidated schedule, fully expanded and all
the data was there for viewing. Now when you send the consolidated schedule,
subproject files are collapsed, so you can't see the data without the files.
Saving the consolidated schedule as an xml or mpd has the same result.

I have previously used Excel to realign the predecessors and successors, but
will need to recreate that process. I have considered saving the file to
Access opening it it Artemis, then exporting from Artemis back to Project.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

Dean,
Have you tried to clear the check box : Link to project in the Inserted
Project Information dialog (Advanced tab)
Double click the row of a sub project to do that.
Hope this helps

It may be easier to assemble a new master schedule without the linking. From
a blank Project1.mpp file:

Insert/Project...
When you browse to the desired file, be sure the "Link" option is not
selected.
Repeat as necessary.

You may need to re-establish your cross project links.

The trouble I find with exporting to other applications and then back into
project is they tend to create constraints on the start dates.

Jim,
Thanks, but getting a schedule with all the external links broken is easy;
my reference to Excel was to re-establish cross project links.
