Convert MS Works 3.0 to MS Word 98

I have a bunch of important files that are in Microsoft
Works 3.0 documents that I want to convert to Microsoft
Word 98 documents. When I try to open them in Word, the
only way it allows me is as a text only file which
includes a lot of gibberish. Does anyone know how to
make this leap?

DataViz MacLinkPlus Deluxe has translators for MS Works that will convert
MSW files to Word 98. However, not all formatting features in Works are
supported and you may discover that some formatting for complex documents is
lost.

There is a converter for MSW 4, but I have no idea if the file formatting
for MSW 3 and 4 are different. I believe you will find the MSW 4 converter
in the Value Pack/Shared Applications folder.

Hope this helps.

If you still have Works, save from there to RTF, then open the RTF in Word
98.

If not, look for someone with an old PC version of MS Office. The Works 3
converter was dropped in Word 2000, I believe. However, anyone who has been
upgrading since Word 97 should still have a Works 3 converter, and on the
PC, it will still work.

Hope this helps
