Convert or Not?

Is there any reason or advantage to convert a BE/FE datatbase from 2000 to
2003? In the peer-to-peer network all machines are running XP and Office
2003.

Provided you keep the back-end (data) file in the "oldest" (A2000) version,
you should be able to link from front-ends in any (subsequent) version of
Access (e.g., A2003). It doesn't work the other way around (older versions
of Access can't read newer version data).

But is there any advantage? Will the database run smoother, faster, or have
more options available?

Microsoft claim that there are 'stability and performance improvements'
associated with the new format and advise that you convert if and when you
have no need to support earlier versions. I can't offer any personal opinion
on the validity of those claims - that would require extensive testing of
otherwise identical applications, in identical environments, using both
formats, and I have not undertaken any such tests.
