Russ,
I did the following:
File>New>Outlook Data File>Outlook97-2002 Personal Folders File(.pst)>OK
File>Import and Export>Import from another program or file>Personal Folder
File (.pst)>Next>Specify the file to import (Outlook 2003 .pst)>Next
This is were the error message comes up "not compatible with this version of
the
Personal Folders Information Service".
I can't proceed past this point.
Thanks
Tim

You still haven't told us anything. Did you want me to try to find that
reference and figure out what you did? I would suggest you do what I posted.

I used the instructions as detailed in Microsoft Office Assistance: Use an
Outlook 2003 .pst with earlier versions of Outlook. Using Convert may have
been the wrong term - I'm just trying to open up the Outlook 2003 files on
a
PC running Outlook 2002. Thanks.
:
You have tried what instructions?
There is no way to convert file types. You must create an entirely new
file
in Outlook 97-2002 format, then copy your data into it.

I am trying to convert a PST file from Outlook 2003 (notebook hard
drive)
to
Outlook XP 2002 (Desktop). I have tried the instructions a number of
times
and keep getting the error message "not compatible with this version of
the
Personal Folders Information Service". Any assistance or advice as to
what
I
am doing wrong would be appreciated
