For what it's worth. I downloaded "Presentersoft PowerVideoMaker" to see
how it works to convert PPT to a movie file. It did a nice job. Expensive
though. To upgrade from the free test version it cost almost $100. In the
test version it leaves a promo title at the bottom of the video.
It was WYSIWYG. I still haven't read any documentation on it and have had
no trouble. My PPT show had both video and audio. Each slide waited for
the previous slide's verbal audio to complete before playing. The first
time I tried VideoMaker it used default slide timings which cut off the
audio and went to the next slide. I found a means to sample the PPT program
for timings and now it works just fine.
With the program in .wmv format it will play on any computer and on most TV
DVD players when burned to a DVD.
Previously I had fed my computer video/audio output to my VCR and taped the
PPT show while it played. Then I fed the VCR output to my TV DVD recorder.
It worked OK but the video quality suffered somewhat. This way it stays
digital and maintains high video appearance.
