Convert textboxes to text

Rick Sierk

Is there a way to convert multiple textboxes to text, i.e., eliminate the
boxes? We have a large PDF file of scanned documents. Acrobat 7
Professional is able to convert to Word format. The drawback is that every
paragraph turns up in its own textbox. Thus the dilemma. The whole point
was to regain easy editing capability. If anyone can point me in the right
direction, I'd be might obliged. Rick

The whole point of PDF is that it is not easy to revert to an editable
document. I think you will find that the 'text boxes' are in fact frames and
there is no really simple method of converting the framed text to a
facsimile of the original document. It is fairly simple to remove the frames
by applying a style that doesn't have the frame, or by running a macro, but
you will find it a lot of work to get a usable result.

It would be simpler to use OCR software compatible with PDF format (e.g.
Finereader) to convert the document or maybe one of the third party tools
available for the purpose (e.g. PDF2Word or PDF2Text).
