Convert to RTF to another format ? What to use ?

All,

A quick question, I am currently using some RTF to store formatted text in
an SQL database, accessed through RTF2 control.

I am getting tired of the mess the RTF overhead generates, what would be a
good alternative to store formatted text ?

What kind of controls are there around to deal with that format ?

as a word document, or a pdf maybe. depends on what it comes from and where
it has to go. since you are in an 'ms office' group the obvious choice is
to store it as a word document, then you can use word as the editor. for
rich text there is an rtf text box control that should be in the standard
libraries of controls with office, there may be 3rd party stuff out on the
web also.
