[QUOTE="Gregg Roberts, post: 5086408"] Using Visio 2003 Professional SP2 (11.5509.6568). I created a web site map. Visio could not map most of the site, apparently because the site was written in Perl and the links are dynamic, even though they don't look like it. I deleted all the shapes and proceeded to create the map manually. Silly me. Now, when I link a shape on the Page-1 to Page-2 (or to a shape on Page-2) using the Sub-address button in the Hyperlink dialog, I get an error message that says "Changing the current hyperlink is not alowed because the current hyperlink was discovered by the Web Site Map Template." The instruction "To add a new shape, drag a shape onto the drawing page" is provided in the same OK message. OK, I can add shapes to the page that way, or by copying and pasting existing shapes and modifying their text and size. However, when I link either kind of shape to other pages or shapes, the text in the "anchor" shape is replaced with "Not yet available," AND the link doesn’t work anyway: After I save as a Web Page, clicking the linked shape produces a Page Cannot Be Displayed error (if active content is left blocked) or “Internet Explorer cannot open the site …†if I allow blocked content. Under the first condition, the link in the address bar (after I click the shape) contains “.vsdâ€, which is not the correct file name. Apparently this is a bug in how Visio writes the link. However, changing that to “.htm†doesn’t help. Even if the problem with the link worked, I have about 20 pages with 5 to 20 shapes per page. No way I'm going to re-type all that text just so I can make a fancy hyperlinked document. Both issues need to be fixed for the hyperlinking feature to be usable. Is there any way to convert the Visio document into a non-Web Site Map so I can add links to shapes without their text getting blown away? I can use VBA if that would help. Thanks for any help!
