convert word doc to adobe

Sure- but you will need a third party application. Go to
download.com and search for 'convert word to pdf and list
of applications will come up. Some of them are free to
try- but require you to pay after a while.

I use Adobe Acrobat, but it does cost money. It has good abilty to
manipulate the PDF (editing, combining, etc.).

I also use and like the freely available Ghostscript. It's the tool I
use to create PDFs, and I use Adobe Acrobat to assemble and edit them.

Yes, you need to have Adobe Acrobat...I have Version 5....something or other. After you have installed the FULL version...not just the reader, you can go to Adobe's Site and get a download (the MSWord conversion plugin hidden in one of Adobes standard updates.) I have converted standard documents, but have not attempted to convert any of my Word Docs with VBA or Macros. You might find the full version 6, that Adobe has included the conversion utility. I personally can't afford it.
